Random Access Mayhem Debuts on Steam With Strong Reviews

Ana sayfa / News

A new roguelike is making waves on Steam. Random Access Mayhem has left early access behind, bringing new bots, a full storyline, and more than 20 levels. The launch price sits at $11.99, with a 20% discount available for early adopters.

Unlike traditional roguelikes, where players are the hero, Random Access Mayhem casts you as a rogue AI with no permanent body. Instead, you jump into enemy robots, use their abilities, and swap out before they break down. This body-swapping mechanic lets you turn enemies into allies while constantly changing your playstyle.

MSI Claw 8 AI Handles Borderlands 4 Better Than Steam Deck, But Not Perfectly

Borderlands 4 runs better on MSI Claw 8 AI than Steam Deck, but still struggles to hit a stable 60 FPS, even with tweaks.

The game’s early access run, which began in November 2024, already included six playable bots, procedural stages, daily challenges, and a minigame hub. The 1.0 launch on September 15, 2025, adds:

Together, these additions bring the game to a complete state with a more cohesive narrative arc.

Steam users have embraced the launch. Reviews for the game are overwhelmingly favorable, with many praising the combat style, level variety, and body-swapping mechanic. Criticism exists, mostly about difficulty spikes, bot balance, and occasional frustration when a host robot breaks down too quickly.

The title supports Windows and macOS and is marked “Playable” on Steam Deck. Some handheld users mention minor issues like small text and mismatched controller icons, though performance is generally solid across the board.

With a completed storyline, expanded bot roster, and consistent community feedback, the game has a strong foundation for updates. Whether it’s balancing tweaks or new challenges, the developers now have room to refine and expand beyond the 1.0 release.
